as much as i love the ever on going life a very not agreeable illness has made me stay in bed now for a week… but well – what could be better than for another new start with my lovely blog?:)
one of the first things I wrote about in this blog was Avatar. I hope you have all seen it now – I already went for a second time and…. it’s just incredible/amazing/etcetera piece of art. Actually I know it has not come out yet in Italy and I will not write more about it(don’t want to spoil it for you, Daniele!).
the task of today has been finding cheap tickets for berlinale – mission accomplished! I already know that it will be a great time there for learning and meeting old and new friends. And I have to praise my new boss for letting me go - thank you Ilkka!
There are actually 2 articles that have given me a lot of thought today (thank you Alex), one describing the biggest sleeper film 2000-2009 and another one about film industry (or the development towards one) in Saudi Arabia. The sleepers list is throned by Paranormal Activity – a film I have not seen, but my friends who have actually call it quite creepy. They used the same kind of marketing trailer as REC – looks like the kind of attitude that the audience wants assurance from people, who have already seen the film, sells more in the horror world than the actual images.
The article about the awaking filmmakers in Saudi Arabia is a good reminder to not undervalue the societies we live in – making films is probably easier everywhere else but there.
Within next couple of days I’m working on cutting the budget of a short film I’m working on and also changing the finance plan…. trying to use all my knowledge from Ronda;)
And then a small film I went to see on the 31st of Dec. Maybe just because I love Audrey Tautou.
